Festival 2022: Tickets FAQ

Are tickets on sale now? 

Yes! Four day passes and weekend passes are on sale now. 

Are there assigned seats, or is everything general admission? 

All tickets are general admission, and seating is first come first served. 

If you are a Festival Coordinator for a high school student group, please note that your student group(s) will receive a personalized schedule for High School Student Day (you will be assigned a location for each session, but not assigned seats).  

When will I get my four-day or weekend pass after ordering?

Four day passes will be mailed by NJPAC after August 15.

  • Orders placed after October 6 for Four Day passes will be held at NJPAC for pick up on October 20.
  • After October 19, Four Day passes may only be purchased at the box office.

Weekend passes will be mailed by NJPAC after August 15.

  • Orders placed after October 6 for Weekend passes will be held at NJPAC for pick up on October 22.
  • After October 21, Weekend passes may only be purchased at the box office.

What does a Festival ticket give me access to? 

The real question is, what doesn't it? 

Your Festival ticket gives you access to: 

  • Poetry readings, performances, panel discussions, Q&As and musical collaborations at any of the locations where we have Festival stages 

  • Open mic readings where you can share your own work if you wish to 

  • Our huge pop-up poetry bookstore where you can browse and buy titles from all of the Festival Poets  

  • Book signings with Festival Poets 

Do you offer discounts? 

We offer special discounts for teachers, students, Newark residents and seniors (age 62 and up). You can view ticket prices and discounts here

Please note that we do not offer a student discount on Friday, October 21 2022 because it is High School Student Day.

I'm a teacher/student. What do I need to know? 

If you are a teacher who wishes to attend Teacher Day on October 20, 2022, you can find more information here

If you are a teacher who would like to organize a group from your school to attend High School Student Day for free on October 21, 2022, you can find more information here

Teacher and student discounts are available every day of the Festival (except for Friday, October 21, when we do not offer the Student discount. Students registered for High School Student Day attend for free).
